 Typical Analysis, %   C 0.35-0.45, Si 0.20-0.40, Mn 1.30-1.60, Cr 1.80-2.10, Mo 0.15-0.25
 Supplied Condition   Hardened and Tempered
 Material Characteristics This is a general steel grade for moulds for plastic processing with a thickness of less than 400 mm in the quenched & tempered condition at a hardness of roughly 300 to 330 HB. Relatively good machining ability and polish ability. This steel grade is suitable for texturing.
Applications Moulds for plastic processing, mould frames for plastic moulds and pressure casting dies, recipient sleeves.

  Pre-Hardened Corrision Resistant Plastic Mould Steel

  C 0.33-0.45, Si <1.00, Mn <1.50, Cr 15.50-17.50,   Mo 0.80-1.30,  Ni <1.00
 Supplied Condition   Quenched & Tempered.
 Material Characteristics Steel with a relatively higher corrosion resistance than most of the other cold work steels for compression and injection moulds and other components. The steel is usually supplied in the quenched and tempered condition with a hardness of 300 HB
Applications Moulds requiring a relatively good corrosion resistance, good polish ability.
